Writing the--fairly reasonable--American novel(s)
First, a little story.
Back in late 2009 I pulled out a couple of my old Tom Swift Jr. books. I wanted to read them—for the first time in about a dozen years—to see if the stories still held up. Well, they do... sort of. I went out on the Internet to see if there was anything new and Swifty going on and much to my surprise, a very nice man named Scott Dickerson has a site devoted to his own reimagined and all-new Tom Jr. stories. See the link to his site at the bottom of this page.
Never one to just sit around, I just sat around and typed my little fingers off and came up with a new Tom Swift story all on my own. Then, a second one rushed out. As of today, I have finished five a further three in various stages. Ihope to complete them at 5 to 6 month intervals. I call my series the Tom Swift Invention Series.
I have based my stories on the reimagined world of Scott's Tom Swift Lives! series because I realy like what he has done with the characters. Since starting, I have been in contact with Scott and two other very good fan fiction authors who are also creating new stories in the Tom Swift universe. With the 100th anniversary of publication of the very first TS novel happening in 2010, the world of Tom got its own conference at which we four authors were invited to participate; and much fun was had by all.
The following books may be purchased from one of the publishers who are printing my books. They are available as quality paperbound volumes, and as downloads. Click any cover and it should take you right to the order page for that book.
NOTE: Selected volumes are also available in hand-bound collector's editions.
Also available are four novels from the original 1910 Tom Swift series, now rewritten and reimagined (by me) with more science, better mechanics, and with refined wording to remove much of the racial slurs.
I have also written numerous novellas featuring individual inventions. Many are parts of 7-story collections that may be found on this page.
And, there is a whole world of Character Short Stories featuring many of the people who live and work with and around Tom Swift. Most appear in 3, 4 and 5 story collections.

Tom Swift and the Galaxy Ghosts is first and foremost, NOT an updating of the final book in the Tom Swift Jr. adventures. It is an entirely new story and was written with one thing in mind: the original was crap as a story, but intriguing as a title.
When it becomes known that the Earth could be threatened by an anomaly in a nearby solar system--that might or might not be a black hole--Tom and Bud discover a way to travel great intragalactic distances using tiny wormholes. The object they find is not what they expected. Whatever it might be seems to be running backwards, spewing out matter rather than sucking it in. What they discover when they get up close for a look stuns them and Tom can find no logical or illogical explanation for it! The worst part? Tom and Bud are trapped, lightyears from Earth, and are running out of food, water, air, fuel, time... and options.
Due to a more intense set of situations, this book may not be appropriate for readers under 10 years of age.
The following two books are being written. They will be available at approximately six month intervals beginning in December, 2012. Once they are available, you will be able to click on these as well.
Tom and his father have lost out on a bid to provide environment shelters for a new Moon base, so they set their sights a little farther out. With their Space Friends already in the vicinity they believe it will be a great success. They don't plan on a meglomaniac's plans to kill them and to attempt to enslave the Earth. And, when the very planet seems ready to attack them, Tom must quickly find the path to success. Failure isn't an option!

In addition to the Tom Swift stories, I also write stories under the pseudonym of T. Edward Fox.
The following are the currently-available books about other characters in the Tom Swift world.
They may be found on this page.
As if my efforts aren't enough, you can take a look at all the books Scott Dickerson has either reimagined
(that means improved and brought up to date) along with the half dozen or so brand new Tom Swift novels
he has written in his TOM SWIFT LIVES! series.
And, soon, I hope to offer direct links to the works of the several other Tom Swift fan fiction authors.
Check back!
